This statement applies to calibisfarms.com. It describes how accessible the site is today, what we are still working on, and how to get help or request information in another format. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a box we check once.
Our Commitment
Calibis Farms is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse. Accessibility is part of how we design and build, not something we bolt on afterward.
We work toward compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act, using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our technical benchmark.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA.
calibisfarms.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, but some content, described in Section 06, does not fully conform yet.
We publish this honestly rather than claiming full conformance, and we update this page as we close each gap.
What We've Built In
The following features are already in place across the site:
Semantic structure
Headings run in logical order, landmarks mark each region, and lists and tables use real markup so screen readers can navigate by structure.
Text alternatives
Product photos, founder portraits, and content images carry descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
Color contrast
Body text and interface elements are checked against the 4.5:1 minimum, and our gold accent is paired only with backgrounds that keep it legible.
Visible focus
Every link, button, and form field shows a clear gold focus outline so keyboard users always know where they are.
Responsive & zoomable
Layouts reflow down to 320px and support 200% zoom without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
Reduced motion
Animations and transitions are disabled automatically when your device requests reduced motion. No content flashes more than three times per second.
Labeled forms
Contact and retailer forms use visible labels, clear required-field markers, and error messages that explain what to fix.
Skip to content
A skip link at the top of every page lets keyboard and screen reader users jump straight past the navigation.
Keyboard Navigation
The entire site can be operated without a mouse. Nothing traps keyboard focus, and menus, lightboxes, and the retailer map can all be opened and closed from the keyboard.

Assistive Technology
We build to work with current browsers and assistive technology. The site has been reviewed with the following combinations:
- NVDA with Chrome and Firefox on Windows
- JAWS with Chrome on Windows
- VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android
- Browser zoom and operating system text scaling up to 200%
- Windows High Contrast Mode and forced-colors settings
The site relies on JavaScript for some features, including the retailer map and mobile menu. Core content, navigation, and contact details remain reachable without them.
Known Limitations
We would rather name the gaps than hide them. These are the areas we are actively fixing:
- Interactive retailer map: the map is powered by a third-party mapping service and can be difficult to use with a screen reader. Our Locations page also lists every retailer as plain text with address and phone, and you can always email us for the closest option.
- Embedded social media: Instagram content pulled into the site inherits that platform's markup, including images posted without alt text by other accounts.
- Older PDFs: some certificates of analysis provided by our testing labs are not tagged for screen readers. Email us and we will send the results in an accessible format.
- Video captions: most videos are captioned. A small number of older clips are still being captioned, and transcripts are available on request.
- Partner-supplied images: collaboration artwork occasionally arrives with text baked into the image. We add descriptive alt text as we identify these.

Third-Party Content
Parts of this site rely on services we do not control, including mapping, form processing, social media embeds, and the retailer portal. We choose vendors with accessibility in mind and report problems to them, but we cannot guarantee their conformance.
Licensed dispensaries and delivery services that carry Calibis products operate their own websites and apps. This statement does not cover them. If a retailer's site creates a barrier, contact us and we will help you complete what you were trying to do.
How We Test
Accessibility is reviewed as part of every release, not once a year.
- Automated scanning: every new page and template is scanned with axe DevTools and Lighthouse before it goes live.
- Manual keyboard testing: each page is walked end to end with the keyboard alone.
- Screen reader review: new templates are reviewed with NVDA and VoiceOver.
- Contrast checks: every color pairing is verified against WCAG ratios before it enters the design system.
- Full audit: we schedule a complete review of the site at least once a year and after any major redesign.

We acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 business days and aim to resolve confirmed issues within 30 days. If a fix takes longer, we will tell you why and offer another way to get the information or complete the task.
Need product details, a certificate of analysis, or retailer information in large print, plain text, or another accessible format? Ask and we will send it at no cost.
Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your report, email info@calibisfarms.com with "Accessibility Complaint" in the subject line. A senior member of our team will review it and respond within 15 business days.
You may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or the California Civil Rights Department. We would rather solve it with you directly first.
